Quote:
"Thinking backwards.
Amma told a story last night about a boy who was about to go out on his first date with a girl and he was nervous. So his father advised him of the three things all women are interested in talking about: Food, family and Philosophy - and that if there was a lull in the conversation, these three things would save him.
So on the date there was an awkward silence, then the boy remembered his fathers advice and asked, "Do you like spinach?". "No" came the response and the painful silence returned.
Then he remembered the second subject, family. "Do you have a brother?" he inquired. "No" came back the response. Now, he was down to playing his last card: Deep philosophical inquiry, "If you had a brother, would be like spinach?" - the boy asked.
Of course, the boy in this story did not understand the intention of the instructions given and Amma was relating this story as a way to show us that there are many ways to interpret teachings and information.
Many times when we confuse things it is due to retrograde planets, either in our birth chart or in the current sky.
Now we have Venus and Saturn both retrograde and you may be experiencing some confusion.
Retrograde Planet FACTS:
In all of my years of astrological study I have rarely encountered a subject that, although very common, has almost no good explanation. Retrograde planets is such a subject.
I have been researching them for many years, looking for the hidden keys and I feel very confident now that what I instinctively knew, has shown itself to hold up under scrutiny.
As with everything in astrology, the astronomy will lead you to the truth. Retrograde is no different. So, what is happening astronomically with the retrograde planet? It appears to move backward, relative to the earth, based on its speed relative to the Earth. This creates the "illusion" of moving backwards. This happens when the planet is CLOSEST to the earth and therefore BRIGHTEST in the sky.
So, a few things here of note. It is easy to dismiss this as "an illusion", but everything we see is an astronomical illusion. The Sunrise itself is an illusion, the flat Earth is an illusion - So, retrograde, as an apparent motion should not be minimized because it is an illusion. This illusion is created by the relationship of the earth to the retrograde planet.
The earth in the astrology chart is the ascendant, showing the actual experiences we need to have. It orients the planets as house rulers. The planets as house rulers show our experiences and what is produced externally by the planet. Thus the retrograde planet interrupts the "things and people" it produces.
The retrograde planet IS "moving slower than our life on Earth", based on when we were born - or in transit in the sky.
If you are in a faster moving car, the slower moving one appears to be moving backward. Even though it is not actually moving backward, relative to you, it is. Therefore showing that your speed and it's speed are not in synch. So those areas of life, or let's say those people in the car, if you care about them, are going to force you to slow down in order to be with them. .." ~~~ Sam Geppi
